Makoto Shinkai's lastest animated film Byosoku 5 Senchimetoru to be release on DVD on July 19, 2007 in Japan in limited edition box set and regular edition DVD, but there's currently no plans for Blu-ray or HD-DVD release
Director Makoto Shinkai's movie "Byosoku 5 Senchimetoru" (5 cm per Second) is going to be released on DVD on 7/19/2007. There will be two editions: a special limited edition DVD box, and a regular edition.
The special limited edition will include a disc withthe feature, as well as an extras disc which will include storyboards, the Episode 1 that was distributed on Yahoo!, promotional video, cast interviews, a photo movie, and other extras. It will also include the soundtrack CD, a theatrical film cut, and booklet. Also, there are currently no plans for a Blue Ray or HD DVD release due to the small market size.
