Ritsuka’s search for the person responsible for killing his brother Seimei has led him to Septimal Moon. But in a shocking conversation, he hears something about Seimei that he can’t believe. When a fight with a new fighter unit known as Fearless casts more doubts on the beloved brother Ritsuka thought he knew, he now is faced with a choice that will tear his soul up either way: hold on to his beliefs or decide if Soubi has been deceiving him all this time!
As the manga series approaches its zenith, the mystery behind Seimei’s death comes to the forefront and with it, a disturbing amount of half-truths and suspicions. Ritsuka’s determination to find out the truth forces him to skip school, brave his mother’s abuse, and seek out Septimal Moon. There is a particularly disturbing interaction with his mother and some insight into her insanity. It all pales by comparison to the possibilities that erupt with the information Ritsuka gains from Septimal Moon. But what is the truth? His search for it has already cost him much, but his finding it may cost him more than he could ever imagine. Loveless is as enthralling as ever. It is disturbing, mesmerizing and completely gripping. In many ways it is about insanity, the kind that comes from obsession and how obsession can take many forms; abuse, violence, love, hate, jealousy, even murder. It can lie festering in the heart of a mother who desires to protect the child she might kill or in the heart of a young boy with an unsettling attachment to his brother. The psychology of the characters in Loveless is as riveting as it is compelling. Manga extras include a full color cover page and an afterword from the author. IN SUMMARY: Loveless is always astonishing with every chapter. This latest volume has Ritsuka facing some alarming truths about his murdered brother. |
