Hail to the Chef! You can always count on the Japanese to know a thing or two about gourmet food, and Pokemon chefs are no exception in this case. The crew gets up to plenty of antics in this disc, with one of the best episodes revolving around an all out battle revolving around food! Pokemon keeps on proving it still has lots to deliever to entertain the kids and maybe even their parents. The animation quality and general all around package never lets up for a second, continuing to make a name for itself as an infamous franchisee of fun and goods times with tons of Pokemon buddies!
This tenth volume contains another five Pokemon Advanced Battle episodes. In “Sitting Psyduck” a fugitive Psyduck runs into Ash and friends. Ash helps it escape from a Machop, Machoke, and a Machamp that are chasing after it. But the trial isn’t over at that – they still have to help Psyduck overcome and escape its loneliness too. In “Hail to the Chef!” it’s a gourmet vs. gourmand when a Sneasel and Meowth go head to head over a plate of bad food! And that’s just the start of this restaurant battle to end all food fights! In “Caterpie’s Big Dilemma” we must beg the question: “Is the world really ready for giant sized Pokemon?” Apparently, yes, because Caterpie eats some of Dr. Gordon’s Mystery Candy and grows to enormous proportions. Hilarity ensues. In “the Saffron Con” May is ready for the contest in Saffron City, but Harley’s there to try and trip her up. Only Harley’s devious ways could keep her out of the competition – she’ll have to be on her toes to see past his tricks. In “Hurdle for Squirtle” (lol, who comes up with these titles?) the contest in Saffron City is on, and May must face the devious Harley in a dynamic Pokemon battle like you’ve never seen before! We’ll soon see whether Squirtle’s new Ice Beam attack is strong enough to save the day, and May’s pride to boot. It’s all there in volume ten, so don’t miss it!
EXTRAS: Extras include a text preview of Pokemon Advanced Battle adventures to come, a bonus episode “Pasta la Vista,” as well as the opening and closing theme song sequences.
IN SUMMARY: You have to hand it to the scriptwriters for coming up with conflict after conflict for each continuing Pokemon episode. A funny set of episodes that will keep the kids laughing and wanting to watch multiple times over. |
