Pokemon Advanced Battle continues on with another disc full of adventures. The animation continues to look vibrant and improved upon – there’s nothing to complain about in that department. Our heroes journey forward towards the next gym battles and come across some old friends, including favorites like Misty and Ash’s always defiant Charizard with his fiery temper. Fans new and old will love all the things that were so enjoyable about the classic Pokemon series, but still appreciate everything new that Advanced Battle brings to the table.
This ninth volume contains another five Pokemon Advanced Battle episodes. In “A Real Cleffa-Hanger” Max, Ash and friends are excited to see a Cleffa that lives on Mt. Moon. But when Team Rocket shows up with their new Poke-Vac 5000 (a very powerful Pokemon stealing machine!), will they be able to suck up everyone’s fun? Not if Ash and the crew can help it! In “Numero Uno Articuno” Max and Pikachu take a plane ride with Noland, a mechanical wiz and new friend. Noland has a very rare Articuno and Ash challenges him to a battle with his infamous Charizard. In “The Symbol Life” Ash then puts his Charizard up against Noland’s Articuno and the result is a high-flying battle of legendary proportions. Now if only Charizard’s secret new skill can overcome Articuno’s icy maneuvers. In the humourously titled “Hooked on Onix” (haha) it’s trouble with a capital T when Onix and its friends scatter Ash’s and May’s many Pokemon. If that weren’t trouble enough, Team Rocket buds in and adds to the already boiling pot. In “Rough, Tough Jigglypuff” Ash and the gang help a stressed-out dad who just wants to capture a Jigglypuff for his daughter’s birthday. Problem is, he’s already been trying to catch it for months and the Jigglypuff is no easy catch!

Extras include a text preview of Pokemon Advanced Battle adventures to come, a bonus episode “On Cloud Arcanine,” as well as the opening and closing theme song sequences.
IN SUMMARY:
The fun keeps coming as this colourful and dynamic continuation of the Pokemon universe undfolds. There’s always someone new to meet and more Pokemon to learn about!
