A wounded Atsuma faces off against Hyde and Yanagi while Sumire/Kojomaru continue to search the Research Facility for Kojomaru’s sword. In facing his possible death, Atsuma realizes why he continues to fight despite the pain in his heart and the weakness in his limbs. This desire manifests into the awakening of something within Atsuma, a tohsu wave of power that even Kojomaru feels from so far away. But Kojomaru is having his own problems as despite getting the sword, weakness permeates him and Sumire gains more and more dominance. Within the facility they feel something – or someone- calling them from deep within Okikurumi. Who could it be?

The unexpected twists and turns this story continues to take, maintains its thrilling suspense and deep mystery. Each of the characters have their own emotional evolution, or in some cases, deterioration, as the story progresses. Atsuma grows stronger as a person and so too in spirit. Meanwhile, what is happening with Kojomaru remains unknown. It does give Sumire back control, but at what cost?

This volume reveals the background to Yanagi and the reasons behind his devotion to Utsuho, but it also reveals his weakness. And it is one Atsuma realizes, much to Yanagi’s dismay and rage. In probably the most unexpected turn of events so far, readers learn the fate of Shui and Aika when Sumire makes a startling discovery.

Extras in the manga include a full color cover page, terminology notes, translation notes, character notes, an English translated preview of the next volume, and original sketches laced throughout this volume.

IN SUMMARY:
