SERIES SYNOPSIS: Kagome is a modern Japanese high school girl. Never the type to believe in myths and legends, her worldview dramatically changes when, one day, she’s pulled out of her own time and into another! There, in Japans ancient past, Kagome discovers more than a few of those dusty old legends are true, and that her destiny is linked to one legendary creature in particular – the dog-like half-demon called Inuyasha! That same trick of fate also ties them both to the Shikon Jewel, or “Jewel of Four Souls”. But demons beware…the smallest shard of the Shikon Jewel can give the user unimaginable power! REVIEW: Inside the holy mountain, Inuyasha has been stripped of all his demonic power and is rendered a weak human! Jakotsu of the Band of Seven plans to finish Inuyasha off once and for all! Miroku races to save him with Sango’s help, but can even his Wind Tunnel power be able to break the barrier to return Inuyasha’s demonic powers to him? This volume reveals the final fate of the Band of Seven, the ruthless group of undead assassins sent after the jewel shards and Inuyasha. This volume also features the resurrection of Naraku! Even after Inuyasha is freed of the mountain, he must then face off with the leader of the Band of Seven, Bankotsu, who has now absorbed all his fallen comrades jewel shards to make him into a powered up and even more lethal killer than he was before! Koga tries to help Kagome reach Inuyasha and they do seem to meet up with him and their friends Sango and Miroku only to have the ground swallow them whole! In the bowels of a demonic hell, Inuyasha and his friends discover the terrible truth, that this is all a plan to resurrect Naraku! The evil villain behind all their misery and tragedy rises again, this time absorbing all the shards of the Shikon Jewel to become the most powerful incarnation of Naraku yet! Always engaging, forever exciting, Inuyasha the manga keeps the pace very fast and thrilling in this latest volume with major –and some final- duels with main antagonists; and of course the reappearance of the most evil and powerful villain of the series – Naraku. With Rumiko Takahashi’s ever attractive art style and the intrinsic and involving world of this feudal fairy tale, they combine for the best fantasy series of all time. IN SUMMARY: The latest and greatest from the most enjoyable fantasy series in manga sees Inuyasha and his heroic friends faced with the worst of the Band of Seven, and the rebirth of an even more powerful Naraku! |
