It’s a special spin off for Our Kingdom fans! Raoul, that scheming guy who was thwarted in his pursuit of Akira, is still stinging from the rejection. He can’t stand losing to Rei and so Raoul has gone off to visit an isolated desert kingdom in the hopes that exotic places and exotic men will help take his mind off of his recent past. He doesn’t have to wait long. He is quickly abducted by none other than the handsome prince Ashif…as a gift to the prince’s sister! But what happens when jealous older brothers and Raoul’s own heart betrays him?

Ashif reminds Raoul painfully of Akira. The prince is open and honest and despite kidnapping Raoul, seems very kind. Raoul can’t help falling for him. However there are other men he has to deal with. First is Ashif’s half brother Saqr. He’s the prince’s bodyguard and quick with gun and knife.  Just when it looks like Raoul will get some romance, the older prince and heir to the throne, Muzaffar, arrives and he has a serious brother complex when it comes to Ashif. Raoul finds himself locked in a large area with a bunch of wild cats and they look hungry!

Arabian Nights is a delightful segue into Raoul’s epilogue for fans of Our Kingdom. He showed a softer side by the end of the original series, but he still has enough of that bad boy in him to get into trouble in this manga. There are all sorts of sub-plots mixing it up here. Saqr may have unrequited love for a princess that’s not so unrequited after all. Ashif’s plan to use Raoul as a gift to his sister may have an ulterior motive, and Raoul…let’s just say that simply because he’s the captive doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a few tricks up his sleeve! The story is lots of fun, a hint of danger, and enjoyable romance. It holds the hallmark humor of the author’s in the depiction of the dense prince and the smitten bad boy Raoul. It concludes on a high note and includes comic panels and an afterword.

The art style is everything fans have come to except in the Our Kingdom series. It is fun, robust adventure, and erotic. Due to the desert setting, there are all kinds of exotic details to the clothes and backgrounds to sweep the reader away on the desert adventure along with Raoul!

IN SUMMARY:
Raoul, the bad boy from Our Kingdom, gets a lead role in this spin off that sees him enraptured with a desert prince and happily held captive by him!
