Poor down trodden Sachi. Living with cold and mean Akihiko, the guy who rejected her is bad enough, finding out he has an alternate identity as Akira at a bar only confuses her smitten addled mind, but his hot-cold behavior towards her is really confusing her so that she doesn’t know which way is up! What’s a girl with a glass fetish to do when the four-eyed prince she likes is a real jerk…some of the time?

Is he mean or is it just a façade for a hurting boy underneath? Sachi sure can’t figure it out, she’s too caught up in the haze of how good he looks and the ways he acts super nice for a split second whenever she needs it the most. Trouble brews when a group of girls claiming to be a part of a glass fetish fan club enlist her to join. They have a hidden agenda when it comes to Sachi and her prince. They use promises of the “Four-Eyed Kiss” to get into Sachi’s home and then lock her in the closet! Is Akihiko up on their grand scam? Will Sachi get her kiss? You’ll find out in this volume!

It’s more romantic mayhem when her mother’s birthday brings out the strangest guy. He’s dark compared to Aki’s light, he also wears glasses and he claims to be Aki’s brother! He’s all over an overwhelmed Sachi. Aki’s instant anger and rejection of the guy should set off alarm bells for Sachi but not a chance. She’s totally taken in by Kazuaki. When he enlists her aid to bring the two closer together, she gets rebuffed cruelly by Aki. Eager to take advantage of the situation, Kazuaki makes his move on Sachi and that‘s when readers along with Sachi get a huge revelation behind who Kazuaki really is.

That fun romp and intrigue gives way to holiday angst. The bar owner sells off raffle tickets for a Christmas date with Akira. Against all odds, Sachi wins! They go on the date she has elaborately planned, her hopes high of winning him over, but one thing goes wrong after another. It doesn’t help that Akira is churlish throughout the entire date. He ends up ditching her. Disheartened, she sits alone at a fountain by the snow when a second chance occurs. Could Akihiko be softening towards her…?

That’s the big question and gosh they like taking their time answering it. This is a shojo series after all. The “will they, won’t they”, “does he, doesn’t he” questions that persist aren’t close to being answered yet, but it sure is a lot of fun watching them skirt around it. The manga volume finishes with a bonus story called “Snow has Fallen”. It’s about a girl who dreams of the perfect kiss under the gentle falling snow. She can’t even bring herself to speak to the boy she likes, the most popular guy in school Yudai. His pal Zenji takes pity on Mayaki. Somehow, someway, he ends up being her tutor on how to become a great girlfriend and win Yudai over. In that time it looks like Zenji might be falling for her. When she does get asked out by Yudai, it should be a dream come true. Will she realize that her dream of being kissed during a soft snow fall might involve a different prince?

The manga also has translation notes, afterword, extras, and a preview of the next volume in Japanese.
