From the creator of Tokyo Mew Mew comes an all new manga that is at times disturbing, at times heartwarming, and always intriguing in Only One Wish. If one makes a text to a certain address, a dark angel may grant your wish, but you know the old saying – be careful what you wish for. Different people, diverse lives, and different situations cross paths with the angel to learn that wishes bring far more than anyone might expect! In this anthology of tales, the first wish is made by a girl for a boy to love her. Simple enough yes? But her two friends soon regret their choice when their best friend ignores them afterwards and becomes increasingly jealous and possessive when it comes to her boy. A new wish is made and it is a terrible and horrifying one. Lives are at stake late at night in the high school as evil reigns. In the end the girls try to survive and all seems well…or is it? One last wish by the final girl could see the most horrifying desire come true! In a changeover pace, readers are offered a heartwarming tale in the story of Misa. She’s a girl that drowned while saving a kitten, but apparently even ghosts can have one wish. She wishes to kiss the boy she loved before she moves on to the afterlife. Helping her is her longtime childhood friend. She must however kiss the boy of her heart before New Year’s Eve ends. A midnight kiss or a terrible price might be paid. But is she chasing after the wrong boy? A sudden epiphany, a touching revelation, and two hearts race to meet before it is too late. In a more unusual tale, a girl who lives more in the fantasy she writes than the real world makes a startling wish to have the boy she likes become a part of a shoujo story. She suddenly must deal with a boy shrunken down to the size of a doll. Reality and fantasy clash as she is forced to face the real world and that what her heart desires or her imagination makes up does not always coincide with the feelings of others. A wish gone wrong becomes an opportunity to grow and change for the better in a moral tale involving a good girl with more imagination than common sense. The final story involves a case of two identical cell phones switched in a crowd. Suddenly a girl is speaking with a boy she’s never met on a phone another owns and wondering if he’s too good to be true. There are a few ominous moments where you fear for the girl, but overall the story reveals the mischievous side of the dark angel. As fate draws the two people closer together, a wish might pull them apart. The tale will leave you waiting until the final page. The manga also includes bonus manga story “Wish and Tokyo Mew Mew” and translation notes.
