The leader of Sarte is dead, putting the precarious balance of the city in the lurch. Two are declared the heirs apparent. One is Narada and the other Lahti. During the fallout, both men dodge one assassination attempt after another. Kai is frustrated at his helplessness to be useful to Lahti.  During the investigation into the bomber, Kai saves Lahti only to be saved himself by Narada. Following Lahti’s harsh words, Narada makes Kai an offer he cannot refuse. In order to get stronger to be useful to Lahti, Kai will do anything. If training with Narada is what it takes, so be it.

The fight for the leadership is one thing that gets severely complicated when the Sarte Council is slaughtered. The only person that the evidence points at is Bihaan, Lahti’s twin sister who is an assassin and was once the woman Kai loved when he knew her as Maria. The twins hold an overpowering desire to murder each other. It is a twisted and obsessive love that could only lead to tragedy. In the new investigation, Kai is captured by Bihaan. She uses him as bait for Lahti and a riveting three-way face-off occurs when Kai intervenes to prevent the twins from killing each other.

In some ways, the intrigue, pacing and tone of this prequel to Steal Moon surpasses the other manga series. It is also the closest in vein to one of Makoto Tateno’s most popular series – Yellow.  If you are a yaoi fan who likes their tales gritty with layered characters and intense storylines then this is the manga for you.

IN SUMMARY:
