It’s been only a few days since Severin’s death. Misasa needs to save her little sister and undergoes a frightening process to try to save her. However, the main focus of this volume isn’t on them, but rather on Hime and her elder sister and the plot that might undo Hime completely where others have so far failed. Hime is suffering from sudden bouts of fainting and inattention. Her group is deeply concerned for her but of greater concern is the song that is haunting her. She is more and more forcibly recalling an unfinished song she wrote and played as a little girl at the piano for her elder sister Silvia. When Riza realizes something is deeply amiss, she keeps her ears open and to Hime’s shock, begins to hum the tune that only she and her sister should know. It is the sign of an insidious attack, one that goes straight for Hime’s heart and threatens her with madness. Reiri, Riza and Hiro go in search of the person and the evil pipe organ that is playing out a curse upon Hime. Reiri has an encounter with Zeppeli while Riza and Hiro find out that Hime is stronger than any of them guessed when she takes things into her own hands literally to try to outplay the demonic spell being placed upon her. The question of Silvia is still up in eh air. A new and far more threatening enemy perhaps. But first Hime must deal with a threat closer to home. A danger of supernatural proportions is causing the girls at the local school to disappear. They all go to investigate, Hime, Reiri, Riza and Hiro along with Flandre, and what they encounter is a mountain deity of old who is getting what she considers her just due. According to the rule, a monster cannot interfere with a divinity therefore Hime must walk away, much to the ire of her friends. It doesn’t however stop her comrades from taking matters into their own hands. But people should be careful that when they go to ‘handle’ a deity that they make sure they did it thoroughly lest that so-called god come back and get them. That is exactly what happens. A weird trip to a snow covered lodge has the group being attacked by yetis, monsters that have been extinct for several centuries. The mountain deity has decided it is time for a little payback perhaps. It is a curious final chapter with a dimensional rip, a time paradox, and divine punishment taking on all new forms. Hime must come up with a surprising solution if they all hope to survive, let alone close the rift. This volume enters in a new threat (Silvia) with some side plots brewing while still throwing in some stand alone supernatural investigations for Hime and the crew. Surprisingly Hiro has taken a much smaller role, barely noticeable at all in this volume, while Riza has been more prominent. Manga extras a preview of the next volume in Japanese.
