If you thought you’ve experienced all anime has to offer, hold on, take a breath and prepare yourself for the divine wickedness that is Ergo Proxy. Its shadowy fascination is a gift of enthralling animation and an all consuming story. Since the assassination attempt on Re-l, Daedalus has been exiled from his research and is under observation. Raul connects with the man and together these two men form an unholy alliance to discover the secret of the proxy. But what are their true goals? It seems unlikely that either want to save Romdo. It’s unlikely that either man’s aims are ones that would do well for either Re-l or Vincent.
Vincent is lost. He and Pino awaken at a strange tower with an even stranger handsome man. This person confronts Vincent and challenges him about Vincent’s quest to return to Mosk and find answers about his life. When the altercation turns ugly, the awful truth Vincent has unconsciously been fleeing from will finally be exposed to the harsh light of truth and he will never be the same again.
Re-l also seeks the truth. In this volume she and Vincent are at last reunited. There, in the uncertainty of their surroundings and who to trust, she will witness the terrible truth for herself. The answers she sought over threat of death at last come to face her. It will leave her with a decision, one that might involve her having to kill those close to her.
