This wonderful saga of divine love and romantic high jinks continues in this latest volume of the popular series. Keiichi and his father race the highways, unknowing that Keiichi’s mom has made a whopper of a bet with Belldandy. If Keiichi loses, Belldandy has to reveal who, and what, she really is! It’s all on the line in the latest adventure of OMG. The fun doesn’t stop there. Next, it looks like Keiichi may finally get a romantic getaway with the love of his life, Belldandy, after they win a pass to a hot spring. Too bad Chihiro has decided to tag along. Before they know it, thanks to Chihiro, the three find themselves on a road trip with many a comedic mishap. This volume takes a serious turn however in the final chapters. First Skuld is distraught over not having awakened her angel yet. However, at the same time, an angel eating being has escaped and is tracked to Earth! A fifth goddess appears; ready to guard them all from the threat. But is she too late to save one of the goddesses already? The first half of this volume is beyond charming. The sweet moments between Belldandy and Keiichi tied in with the family scenes are heart warming. The adventure with Chihiro is just plain funny. The last story with the danger to the goddesses is riveting and it ends on a heck of a cliffhanger. With the advent of a new Goddess, it will be exciting to see where the story goes next. This enchanting romantic adventure is brought to life not only by the tender hearted story telling and good humor, but also by the art. Kosuke Fujishima’s art style shows so much growth since his first volumes of OMG and every page in this book has remarkable images. From the race to the beautiful images of the goddesses, each page is fascinating to look at. Bonus features include the return of Adventure of the Mini-Goddess comic strips, translator and editorial notes as well as fan mail and fan art. IN SUMMARY: Oh My Goddess is a manga that continues to delight through its remarkable artwork, charming stories and characters you can’t resist falling in love with. This particular volume takes a surprising dramatic turn as the goddesses find themselves in danger.
