The lives of four people are showcased in this one shot manga. One is an actor who is capturing of the heart and minds of the audience borders on brilliant, one is a writer who has left his parental home in order to hone his latent talent, one is a theatre director while the last one works as a rather young lead actor. All have the potential for both greatness and happiness, but there is something tragic at the heart of these lives that the reader will find among the yaoi overtones and general sensuality the story has to offer. Alex has a brawl outside a bar ending in a fierce confrontation between him and a feisty raven haired beauty who later turns up at his door announcing himself as his new lodger. Cue the shock on Alex's face, and the realisation it is him from the night before. Luca makes his apologies to him and they both set about getting to know each other, all the while unaware of what will happen. The place is beautiful and in a good part of Venice, and Luca wonders why the rent is so low. When he hears from Alex that he cannot afford the money the renovation of the place would cost, he still wants to share it with him - even if it means him having to share with another - a huge, black kitty named Morfeo! The more time the couple share together, the more Luca gets to like him, and once they find out what each of them does their friendship grows even if Alex has a lover who won’t leave him alone! This is Dany&Dany's first manga novel in the yaoi genre and still even at the start they will manage to thrill and entrance the reader with their storytelling ability and talent for their own style of artwork. The faces are nicely sculpted while the eyes have a lustrous, crystal quality showing how tender and lustful the characters are. Luca despite all his faults and problems with everyday life manages to make things work with the help of talented Alex aiding him through the bad times as well as the good. Once their relationship blossoms however, it could go either way as Luca is one hot-headed type.
IN SUMMARY: Wishing is beautifully interweaved brilliance - all four characters are believable and have a sense of mystery with wonderful yaoi overtones and fun. Dany&Dany know how to write a passionate story dripping with sensuality. |
