No sooner have Revy and Rock returned from the blood fest and killing fields of Japan to get down time in Roanapur (if you can call it down time), when trouble comes to find them! Revy is enjoying her heavy drinking and trash talking with everyone’s favorite gun toting nun Eda, when a counterfeiter on the lam is looking for a safe haven. She has a cartel on her tail and that mob has chosen the wrong church to aim their guns at! It’s a big badda-boom time with everyone’s favorite gun blazing, sailor cussing mercenary! The church shoot-out is a riot! Not only is there more fantastic visual action on every panel, the whole congregation arms up to teach these cartel yahoos a little bit about the hammer of faith. Soon everyone is after counterfeiter Jane and her wily bit of programming. It’s a race between mercs and the mob as to who will get to her first. Naturally she falls under the “tender loving care” of the callous hands of the Black Lagoon bunch. What everyone guessed was that every hired gun, blade and bomb expert would be on their tail and the Black Lagoon team may not always be prepared, but they’re always up for some violence! At the docks there’s a massive fight with Revy and Eda and their charge (including Rock) on one end and the entire assassin guild on the other! Shenhua returns and with her are Sawyer the Cleaner, a Goth chick and total psycho, Russell the cowboy who loves his guns, Lotton the Wizard, Claude the Torch, and more! It’s a bloody fight where few will walk away. The bullets spray the blades come out and explosion and fire are everywhere. It is one mighty and bloodthirsty battle to the finish. At the very end of the mission, not only do readers learn who live and dies, but also a BIG secret about Eda. That kick ass story takes up most of the book with incredible jaw-dropping panels of violent action the way only Rei Hiroe can deliver. Next up Roberta the maid aka Killing Machine is back and she’s looking for some vengeance. Some people whacked her master, the guy who took the ex-guerilla warrior in and helped her change her ways. Seeing her charge’s tears at his father’s death, she decides it’s time to take up the weapons again and go on a killing spree! Her first stop – Roanapur! The whole city of mercs, mobsters, and assassins are quaking in their boots at the return of the killer maid, which tells you just how badass she is to make this lot afraid. They get a big surprise though when the maid that shows up, with her own set of lethal skills, isn’t Roberta! And she has a special invitation for Revy and Rock. Just what is going on? First the two Black Lagoon members will have to survive the shoot-out in the bar if they want to learn more!
