It’s five stories of unrequited love and sudden confessions in On Bended Knee!

It starts with the romance the manga is named after. Slender bodyguard Hibiki takes his job of protecting childhood friend, and now arrogant heir to the powerful Hong Kong Wang family, very seriously. If only his charge Wu would behave! Wu keeps flirting and trying to seduce Hibiki who cannot take the man seriously. Wu doesn’t realize how much he’s hurting his pretty guard since Hibiki is secretly in love with Wu. When danger and death come too close for comfort, will one of them have the courage to speak their heart?

Next, a pediatrician has had enough of the brilliant surgeon who keeps having his way with the good doctor at every opportunity. When Kimura puts his foot down and tells surgeon Yuuichi that there can be no more hank panky at the hospital, Yuuichi gives him the cold shoulder and starts avoiding him all together! The total freeze out isn’t what Kimura wanted when he said that they had to back off on the hospital seductions. It drives him crazy. Was it all simply a meaningless affair? Kimura is about to find out!

In “I Won’t Lose the Sun”, Mahiro, a college lecturer, can’t seem to say no to the young looking student who keeps crashing at his place. When Himawari goes too far one day in trying to sleep with Mahiro, the older man kicks him out and tells him to go home! Not realizing the dire straits Himawari is in, Mahiro soon finds himself searching the streets for the guy who kept pushing his buttons. And he’d better hurry before it’s too late!

Next it’s a Cinderella tale when a rag to riches top model and his lovely manager end up with love on the rocks. Why? Because the overly self-conscious manager Aki worries that Haru’s inability to work without Aki near will ruin his skyrocketing career. Aki pushes Haru away for his own good but suffers heartbreak in the process. It’s a realization for both men when they finally sit down and hash it out.

Last, but not least, is the story of a young and gifted chef who hangs on every word of the Maitre D he’s secretly in love with.  When he hears the love of his life will be leaving, his work suffers and he goes nuts. Can someone serve the man something soon to warm his heart before it melts away?

Each story is an indulgent wish-fulfilling romance. They each hang on love confessions to save the day and simple plots with feel good endings. The art style matches with nothing overly complicated, nice simple lines and attractive illustrations. Plus it comes with a full color cover page too.

IN SUMMARY:
