Madhouse produced anime adapted into a Japanese live action film and schedule for release in 2010.
Manga by Harold Sakuishi and serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine, adapted and produced by Madhouse as an anime series in 2004, the musical romance comedy Beck has been adapted into a live action film. Production for the feature film is to start in July with a fall 2010 release in theaters.
Director Yukihiko Tsutsumi (20th Century Boys) will helm a cast that is lead by actor Hiro Mizushima, who plays Ryusuke. Other casts are Takeru Sato will play Sato, Kenta Kiritani as Chiba, Osamu Mukai as Taira, and Aoi Nakamura as Saku. While the manga and anime story revolves around Yukio “Koyuki” Tanaka, the live action film will instead focus on the character of Ryusuke Minami.
