The battle of Alabasta continues as Princess Vivi tries to stop it. Instead of finding the rebel leader, she encounters some of her father’s troops and asks to be taken to the commander, Chaka. Her idea could stop the war in its tracks, but guess who shows up to ruin the party but Sir Crocodile, along with his second in command, Miss All-Sunday. Miss All-Sunday keeps the soldiers at bay, while the royal family, Chaka and Sir Crocodile have a long talk. Meanwhile, Sanji continues his fight with Mr. 2, Bon Clay. Bon Clay finds out Sanji’s weakness for beautiful women and uses Nami’s face and body to his full advantage. However, Sanji finds a flaw in this particular trick and uses it to his own advantage. Who knows who the winner will be? Nami is now separated from Zolo and has to fight on her own. Earlier, she asked Ussop to make her a stronger weapon so she didn’t have to depend on others to save her all the time. He made her a staff that has some very interesting uses, although he gives her instructions on how to use it for party tricks first. It’s really amusing seeing her figure that out while trying to hold off Ms. Doublefinger! Thankfully, Nami figures out the weapon’s most interesting use in time to survive. While all this is going on, Zolo is trying to figure out how to beat Mr. 1. Mr. 1 has the ability to turn any part of his body into a steel blade! Steel is the one thing Zolo can’t cut – yet! He does, however, but at a great cost to himself. He seems to gain a unique insight into the world around him when he finds himself very hurt. The art is wonderfully drawn as usual, and the Alabasta storyline is becoming very interesting. Will the war ever end?? And how? Also, where’s Luffy? The comedic parts are there throughout this volume although they could be mistaken for dramatic parts. It depends on your sense of humour. One particular part that is a good example of this is when Nami is running away from Ms. Doublefinger and trying to figure out how to use her new weapon!
