The much anticipated first volume of Eik Eiki’s hilarious comedy set in a train station at last hits the shelves and the funny bone in Train Train!

It is DMP’s very first Doki Doki Book release and what a prize for a debut title! Train Train is off the wall screwball comedy that is as energetic as it is funny. Asahi Saruta is a student who has long dreamed of becoming a train conductor just like his dearly departed father. When he is given the chance to work at a train station, even only as a staff member, he is ecstatic! To him this is the first step in the road to obtaining his dream. But nothing could have prepared him for life at the notorious Minami-Kitazawa Station. At MK Station, all the staff members are male and highly attractive, with abundant raging female fan clubs too! Pretty soon Asahi wonders what he has gotten himself into. There’s the ex-delinquent turned Tokyo U graduate, the heartthrob actor, a bisexual free spirit, and a male staff member who is really a girl who loves to dress up as a guy! Poor Asahi, all he wanted was to become a train conductor but gets caught in the middle of the mayhem at MK, will that dream ever come true?

Adjusting to the madcap life at MK is one problem, but Asahi has a far larger one to deal with – he’s terrible at his job! Whether it’s manning the ticket booth, making announcements, or trying to help passengers board, he’s short, clumsy and has a terrible memory. When the boss is due in for a visit, everyone assumes it is to fire Asahi. The group learns about Asahi’s tragic living conditions and quickly proves their merit in heart as they give it their all to try to train him up to snuff to help him achieve his goals and not get tossed to the curb.

The wacky comedy still isn’t over yet! There are the escapades of Asahi’s hamster which may not be a hamster after all and later Asahi has to dress up as a girl to ride the all girls’ car in order to find a groper. It’s only the beginning of the adventures in Train Train and the fun has just begun!

It is a fast paced high energy comedy with that subtle bit of heart and melodrama mixed in to keep readers addicted. The art style is delightful, showing a boisterous energy equal to the story and characters in the manga. It has a wonderful variety in the character designs and a great sense of humor in the illustrative style. Fans of Princess Princess and Mikiyo Tsuda’s work will be sure fire fans of Eiki Eiki’s Train Train series.
Train Train by Eiki Eiki along with Mikiyo Tsuda’s Princess Princess Plus are the two debut titles in DMP’s new Doki Doki Book line. To commemorate their debut, there is a special code in the books that are good for a one-time registration promotional item on the www.dokidokibooks.com site which include such coveted treasures such as full-sized artist page prints drawn and signed by Mikiyo Tsuda!
