From the creator of Gimmick comes an all new encompassing romantic drama that will thrill shojo fans faster than any prime time drama on TV. Honey Hunt is measures of heartbreak, courage, romance and intrigue. It begins with the hard done by Yura. She is the daughter of two absentee parents who are beloved celebrities and internationally famous. She never sees them and they only see her when it is convenient for their image. She is the loneliest girl in the world who tries to keep her head low and just get by with the help of her friend Shin. But when her mother arrives with a bombshell, Yura learns that her parents are divorcing and leaving her to the dogs. Neither wants her and when she discovers the extent of her mother’s betrayal, she flees out of the house, heedless of the milling paparazzi. She ends up blurting out a heartrending declaration and Yura finds herself catapulted in front of the camera. Now she has to decide – will she hide in the corner or go out fighting like a lion? Yura gets scouted by one of the top talent agents. At first she is uninterested but when she hears her mother’s lies and is again confronted by her father’s indifference she makes the choice to fight. She plans to use whatever talent she has to rise and become a bigger star than either of her parents. It is an interesting art style that shows sophistication and well expressed use of imagery that surpasses the average shojo manga. It’s never too sparsely drawn or too busy, it is always just right.
IN SUMMARY: A brilliantly crafted soap opera that will thrill shojo fans! |
