Reformed thug Sakuragi still thinks he’s the bell of the basketball court but he’s in for a rude awakening!  Akagi demands that he learn the simple basics and the guy can’t even perform a layup! Sakuragi is intense about making it as a basketball hero and with Haruka by his side, nothing is going to stop him except maybe his own dense self! It’s hilarity and heart in the latest volume of Slam Dunk!

It’s a great shonen sports manga. Sakuragi is hilarious and the not too bright guy has a lot of heart and determination to make it on the basketball court. He may be the king of the slam dunk, but he’s got a lot of work to do to get a grip on the fundamentals of the sport. Things get feisty when Rukawa tries to help him learn. That gets Sakuragi blown off the court, but interestingly enough, lucking into some one-on-one sessions with Haruka who teaches him the layup. Sakuragi is thrilled but that’s just one out of many basics he has yet to learn let alone master. Next up is the rebound. If you can control the rebound you control the game, but whose going to control Sakuragi?

His ego goes out of control faster than the silly things that fly out of his mouth. When a junior for the upcoming Ryonan match shows up to spy on the competition, Sakuragi bonds with the dude instead of bouncing him to the curb! Now Sakuragi is all fired up for the game with the Ryonan ace Sendoh, but will he face game day warming the bench?

It’s a lot more laughs and lessons on basketball this round. Plus the manga has full color photo pages in their OVER TIME section. This volume features Chris Paul complete with action shots, stats and the lowdown on the layup.

IN SUMMARY:
Sakuragi gets the lowdown on the layup before the big match with Ryonan! The excitement rebounds as fast as the basketballs in this smash hit sports manga!
