It is the penultimate volume of Kitchen Princess at it sees a confession, a revelation (or three), and a big turning point for more than one character as things heat up in and out of the kitchen for Najika and her friends! Seiya is persistent in asking Najika out. She doesn’t know how to deal with his aggressive attitude and she’s too nice to ever turn someone down coldly. Daichi is suffering because of it though. He doesn’t like seeing Seiya trying to get close to her and it doesn’t help straighten anything out for Najika when she thinks Seiya might be her real Flan Prince. The boy that saved her life and gave her flan and a dream to pursue cooking might just be this arrogant young man, but Najika’s heart, still wounded from Sora’s tragic death, is starting to heal and that is because of one guy – Daichi. It doesn’t help that the Director manipulates things to keep Daichi away from Najika at every opportunity. At last a true friend tells Najika the truth as to why Daichi is hopping whenever the father he detests says ‘jump’. It firms her resolve and she makes a big decision to tell one guy no and the other how much she likes him. But nothing is ever simple in this recipe for romance. Drama is always just a dash away and it happens when Daichi finally remembers the summer he lost when his mother died. The truth comes out and it reveals a whole new flavor to his family dynamics. The question is what will it mean for his future with Najika? There is also a bonus manga story about Fujita, revealing his reason for turning his back on a promising and illustrious career as a chef. Manga extras include translation notes, a preview of the next upcoming volume in Japanese, and more fun recipes to try for yourself. I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls. Make sure to add lots of cinnamon and sugar to make them extra tasty. If you find the dough getting too sticky when you knead it, just sprinkle some flour and that will take care of it. Enjoy!
