The epic romance of Ranmaru and Kei has certainly seen a lot of challenges of late. But with Kei safely rescued and recovering, the newly married couple is looking forward to a honeymoon. The excitement hardly ends though as Ranmaru comes face to face with none other than Kei’s dad. It’s hard to believe these two men have never met before but now they are standing face to face. Just what will Kei’s father think of his son’s beloved?
Although all seems well with the lovebirds, Masa and Kai are another story. Both suffering emotionally from what has recently occurred. Can these two people overcome their misgivings to express their true feelings to each other at last?
Kazuma Kodaka is in all ways the Queen of Yaoi. She helped establish the genre as the incredibly popular trend it has become today. Looking at her first main series, Kizuna, it is easy to understand why. Two very different men falling in love in light of a tragedy that strikes, Yakuza intrigues, danger and lover quarrels along with a nearly endless string of possible rivals for their affection, Kizuna has everything yaoi fans love about the genre. It is a manga series that is well written with exciting plot twists and turns and erotic love scenes. The drama is high but the writer always manages to convey some lighthearted comedy throughout the series, keeping it lively and entertaining.
In this volume there is a twin focus. One on the recovery and reunion of Kei and Ranmaru, and the greater angst ridden one of Masa and Kai’s relationship. Readers get a good look into how Masa and Kai truly feel about each other. When certain elements of the past come to light, Kai seriously questions if Masa can ever truly love him for who he really is. The young man is nevertheless determined to try.
IN SUMMARY:
In the latest volume of Kizuna, Ranmaru and Kei finally get a break and go on a honeymoon together. When Masa and Kai join them, romantic drama ensues between the bodyguard and his charge. |
