Kyoko has at last gathered the telepaths that are needed to awaken her sister Ui from her eternal slumber, but she is still missing the final twelfth telepath, the Stranger of Ice. With the other eleven Strangers gathered, Kyoko worries that she will never find the final member. But a stolen kiss, a deadly punishment, and wedding bells all converge to create a chaos that will reveal the last member. The final volume of Time Stranger Kyoko packs a lot of story into its final pages. Kyoko promises herself that she will find out who she truly is once her sister is returned and she will also finally confess her love to Sakataki. But before that can occur, she must find the twelfth Stranger. However a kiss is stolen from Kyoko by Sakataki’s brother Hizuki. The punishment for kissing a princess is one of death! To save him, Kyoko has little choice but to claim he is her betrothed and now the two are set to be married. She’s in love with another. But it turns out that Hizuki had all this planned from the start. He wants to goad his brother into a fight, one that will end Hizuki’s life! The drama is about to unfold in the final chapters of this short but intricate series. When the truth behind Hizuki’s actions are found out and settled, the team also happens upon the twelfth Stranger. Now with the full group, they go about the dangerous and complex ceremony to restore Princess Ui. However the results are unexpected…and tragic. Ui has been returned to her normal state but Kyoko has been separated from everyone and their memories of her erased. She at last learns the truth behind her existence and who her father really is. However Kyoko isn’t ready to settle down quietly and play the good little girl. She has a promise to Sakataki to keep and she’s willing to defy even the powerful god Chronos in order to keep her word to her beloved. It’s a heartwarming finale that comes as no surprise as it comes from the author of other tender hearted tales such as Full Moon and Gentlemen’s Alliance. The final chapter is followed by a sweet epilogue and two bonus stories. The first is a comical tale about Chocola while the other is a series of bonus comic panels to enjoy.
IN SUMMARY: The quest to restore a life, a kingdom and true love comes to a heartwarming end in the final volume of this intricate yet brief fantasy tale. |
