Not at home, Gangjae is oblivious of Inhae dropping by at the house wanting to see him again after what happened. His friend answers the door and tells her Gangjae will need a lot of time if he is to truly want to see her again, as he actually believes he will never be hers.
Gangjae is confronted by a prosecutor who tells him he knows there was a large amount of money deposited in his wife's account recently and it was opened by his father-in-law in her name, so he thinks Gangjae was wanting to kill his wife purely for the money it would eventually bring him. Gangjae defends his position by saying if he was going to purposely kill his wife, he would not be so obvious as to do it in the way that would cause so much publicity for him later - he would do it very discreetly without letting anyone suspect it was him who had done the dirty deed - possibly making it look like his wife had not even died at all. Although Gangjae has tried his best, the prosecutor still thinks he did it and had something to gain from her death. Gangjae wants him to progress with the investigation and stop trying to accuse him of the crime when she could have been murdered by a professional out for money himself. Gangjae has a distinct memory of better days when he was married to Jaehee, and they were truly in love, yet all that has now gone, and only the clones are in existence for him. He remembers how her father was opposed to their marriage as their fathers were sworn enemies.
But just when Gangjae thought things were going along fine, Gangjae's parents descend upon him at his house and want to know why he has not kept his promise of marrying her. He is astonished as he never had any intentions of marrying her at all.
It soon comes to light that at the hospital, Gangjae took part in the human cloning project for fame and fortune as a male came wanting to create clone children. The male was powerful in the underworld and though he had the money he could never father a child, so Gangjae set to work to provide him with what he needed. The cute winged hearts were lovely in this manga and provided a moment of humour in it amidst all the suspense.
IN SUMMARY: Suspicion, intrigue, depth and jealousy are the ingredients that make this second volume one to look out for. The graphic quality is unsurpassed, as is the story. |
