Kiri’s plans to become a princess to win Tohya’s heart seems a distant dream now that she has to disguise herself as a guy to model as a man to stay near her beloved Tohya. To make matters worse, his star is on the rise and with his new commercial he’s becoming increasingly out of her reach. When a conniving photographer figures out her disguise and uses it against her, her dream of winning Tohya may have just become impossible… Cross-dressing, extortion and true love, Never Give Up puts laughs and romance on the angst ridden runway of love for our enjoyment. This new photographer named Yuki flashes nothing but warning signs for not only Kiri, but the two young men who care for her: Tohya and Akira. These two may form an unlikely bond in their common goal to protect the naïve Kiri from Yuki. As the story unfolds and Yuki uses his leverage to get Kiri to go out on a photo shoot as her girl-self, what exactly are his true intentions? Whisked away to a tropical paradise with three men, Yuki, Akira and Tohya, just what will happen to Kiri? Also with Yuki’s appearance, he seems to be playing the devil on Kiri’s shoulder by extorting her into pursuing the path of becoming a female model. Will this help Kiri become the princess she dreams of being? Or will it pull her and Tohya even further apart? Fast paced with lots happening and no shortage of comedy, this romantic gender-bending escapade keeps the story exciting by throwing new curves into it at just the right time. The appealing shojo art style and energetic story and characters keep the manga lively and entertaining. Manga extras include Secrets of the Muto Household which are short panel comic strips. IN SUMMARY: A new potential rival-or threat- to Kiri’s heart arrives to throw a wrench in the works or serve up Kiri’s dream to her on a silver platter. The question is which is it and what will Tohya and Akira do about this new man in Kiri’s life? Never Give Up is an engaging romantic comedy with all sorts of twists and laughs to keep the romantic intrigue high and the humor lively. |
