Ikki and his gang kicked serious butt when they defeated Behemoth last time. Now they have the Fang Regalia and are one-step closer to the top of the Tower. But with their ‘big’ gun Agito in the hospital recuperating, Ikki and his small team are on everyone’s hit list. The nail that sticks out is the one that’s going to get hammered and everyone wants to be the hammer that pounds Ikki down! A pounding they sure get when Nue the Black Crow of the Rising Road, Road of Lightning uses his magnetic regalia to show Ikki and the team they are out of their league and then some! But before all of that Ikki and the boys get involved in the haunted halls of the school. Seems some rumors of ghosts and ghastly ghouls might be true, so they go to check it out. It’s Air Treks like you’ve never seen them used before when the gang has to evade hungry ghosts and creepy monsters! But in the end it comes down to Nue and who sent him. Just what is Simca up to now? There’s more than one luscious babe in this volume. Agito gets a very interesting visit for some “special” care by a temptress in a white lab coat and little else! Meanwhile Simca gets a haircut. The reason? The battle she witnessed with Ikki and the gang against Behemoth has her set on a decision. Changes need to be made so she’s going to get a new hairdo and hand over her entire gang to Ikki! The army of Genesis will be his if he chooses to overtake the Tower. Will he accept this seemingly limitless power? And just what is the catch up Simca’s sleeve? Basically this volume of the manga is a rest stop from the huge action of the Behemoth battle and the set up before the new arc begins. And from the looks of all the setting up, what with an army under Ikki and all, it looks like it will be a doozy! Manga extra goodies include character concept sketches, translation notes, Air Gear trivia, and a preview of the next volume in Japanese.
