Lady Tsunade faces a tough decision, heal Orochimaru's arms, and the two she loves most will be resurrected, or refuse, beat him in combat and become the Hokage of the village hidden in the leaves. Shizune, her aid tells her that if she is going to take Orochimaru's offer then she will try everything in her power to stop her. And with Jiraiya drugged, his charka blocked, Lady Tsunade goes on her way, remembering her times when her brother was alive and well, when he told her he wanted to be Hokage some day, and how proud she was of her brother. Would she readily throw all the Leaf Village meant to her and throw it away to Orochimaru just to see them again.
Naruto is in the difficult position of standing around and watching them fighting as Jiraiya and Naruto find her and Kaguto with Orochimaru and he still wants to use Jiraiya as a sacrifice. Everything for the village is at stake in this volume where the intensity of the story is deeper than before as Lady Tsunade might just agree to her enemy's terms and allow him to bring back the ones she cared about and mourned for so long into her life again. Blinded by her wish to come true, she is about to forget what the village means to her as well as throw away her chance to become Hokage, one of the wishes her brother held dear. Will she make the right decision, or will the fight for the village be all in vain? As usual this show never fails to impress the viewer with remarkable animation and excellent dialogue. Orochimaru is on top form as the villainous enemy of the Hidden Leaf Village along with his right hand sunin. His cruelty is such that he would even kill the defenceless Naruto and Lady Tsunade to prove he can using his immense power. His megalomaniac insanity is what drives him, and the others who battle with him see that he is not fit to be a true sunin when he is just an evil and twisted version of the man he used to be. Naruto sees his problem in the form of Orochimaru, and as it is the first time he has seen the menace it is easy to see why he would want to try and take him out. Jiraiya though does not fancy his chances with Orochimaru being more than he at first looks. His skill is deadly, and the viewer will realise Naruto is devastated that one of his old school friends would even join with him to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village when he was such a different person then. This shows that Orochimaru can influence those around him who have an interest in finding out new and more dangerous ninja art techniques.
