In a stand alone episode, Fai is confronted by the sliding of the mirror when he encounters Chii. But she is not the Chii of his world. Nevertheless she is in need. In a city where magic is common place, Fai is asked to help its ruler and soon abducts Chii! It is a bittersweet episode, like so much of Tsubasa the anime.

Fans of Chobits will love seeing this incarnation of Chii as well as the reappearance of Sumomo and Kotoko. But the Fai episode is only a brief stop before the group of heroes is transported to a land caught up in endless conflict. Separated inexplicably, Sakura and Syaoran are on one side and Fai and Kurogane are on the other, neither pair knowing what has happened to the other until the meet across swords on the battlefield! It is only the beginning of a four part story arc that has many ominous clues for Tsubasa fans to keep their eyes open for in regards of what is yet to come.

Two lands, two deities, and a conflict without end. This is where the heroes find themselves. But even while they try to find each other and discover their purpose there, Syaoran is haunted by increasingly powerful nightmares. He keeps seeing a vision of himself and one of his eyes keeps causing him intense pain. Then there is a moment where he seems to be controlled bodily by an invisible force, fear grips his heart. Rather than open up to his companions, namely Sakura, about these concerns and his anxieties, he keeps it buried. But it lurks, like a looming shadow and the nightmares are growing stronger…

The foreshadowing with Syaoran sees its mirror in Fei Wang’s increasing ire towards the Dimensional Witch Yuko. Her way of subtly interfering in his grand plan of malevolence is no longer going unnoticed. He may now be on the attack and Yuko could find herself in danger. What happens in these episodes provide a bevy of clues for viewers to take note of and ponder.

The arc involving the two lands and the endless war culminates to a confrontation on a moon castle, a strange place between the world and the red moon. It is there that the heroes learn of the past and fates of the clan leaders Ashura and Yasha. War is sometimes a tragic cage for those in love. And a wish made cannot always be granted, no matter the lengths the wisher goes to. The battle is epic and the aftermath heart rending. However it also reveals a fact not known yet to the travelers. They learn of how a wish can come true but also that Yuko cannot only help them travel through dimensions, but also through time. This makes her an even greater threat to Fei Wang.
