While prominently known for their anime music, Atsuko and Katsu, better known as the Japanese J-pop duo "Angela" returns with another tremendous performance of anime and non-anime songs in their recent CD release PRHYTHM.

The 12 track PRHYTHM highlights more of the duo's every growing talent, musical range, and perception, as they continue to tackle powerful, emotional and upbeat music within their composition, and musical arrangements without loosing their style of music. After all, PRHYTHM is their third album since they signed with the Japanese label maker Starchild in 2003. Since then, they have supplied their talents to such anime favorites as Stellvia of the Universe, Fafner of the Azure: Dead Aggressor, and Jinki: Extend.
The duo's latest album starts off with a solid Yell for You, and is followed by the upbeat ending theme song from the anime Jinki: Extend: "The Answer Called the Future". The CD then kicks in to low gear with the very touching and authoritative song Wings. Right off the bat, the third album gives the listener a diverse range of musical arrangements. Unlike any new modern group that relies on electric instruments, its nice to hear a modern group still utilizing acoustic instruments like the trumpet, which are arranged nicely and prominently heard in the song Love Rendezvous. While the CD contains rock-solid music outside of anime, PRHYTHM closes with the full version of Fly Me to the Sky from Fafner.

The two can probably be compared to the 80's duo Eurythmics, but with a Celine Deion-esque vocal range, as you'll only hear the voice of atsuko (Atsuko Yamashita). However, the songs are composed and arranged by both atsuko and Katsu (Katsunori Hirasato). Moreover, unlike any other Japanese duo that you'll hear, atsuko has the range and feelings to convey their music with her musically trained voice in tandem with Katsu's musical prowess. PRHYTHM exposes their every growing talent.

Angela's PRHYTHM shows their ever-expanding talent and establishes that their music can reach farther than anime as they establish themselves as the best musical duo to come out of Japan.
