Ayu is still missing and Yuichi is worried sick. The high stress of the situation causes some of his memories to shake loose and he recalls a moment of deep sobbing and many tears along with a harsh moment with a young Nayuki.  With it comes certain slivers of memories of Ayu, but he still does not know what it is that left him so grief stricken and traumatized that he has sealed away his memories unconsciously these past seven years. But when tragedy strikes now, in the present and far too close to home, both his present and his past will collide.

The accident with aunt Akiko is shown with brutal vividness. It’s shocking. Nayuki blames herself for what happened and closes herself off in her room. Yuichi is beside himself on how to reach her. The increased anxiety finally awakens the long buried memories of his past. A time in his childhood comes back to him and that along with the realities of the present hit with the shock and impact emotionally of a diesel truck. Yuichi’s desperation drives him to extremes as he searches for the final pieces of the puzzle and strives to remedy that which might be impossible to fix. It all culminates into an emotional finale that will leave not a single dry eye in the house.

Winter breaks and a gentle spring warms the weathered and wounded hearts of those that live in the sleepy town. Just when all seems clear, Yuichi discovers another shocking truth that will change everything he thought he knew. Viewers will finds out what happened with Akiko, Shiori, Nayuki, Mai and Ayu as well as Yuichi in the final episode. The anime pulls off a miracle by offering a happy ending after so much melancholy and angst. It is quite the emotional ride. Lovers of romance and dramas like Air will not want to miss out on this title.
