The final volume of the anime is the kick ass best of the series! It starts off with a poker game and ends with an attempt at total world domination by the scheming evil that could! It’s poker devil style when Dante goes on a casino cruise. The poker table has pretty high stakes with the bet being your soul! There’s a legendary poker player named King who is said to play at the cost of your life. But no one knows what King looks like, if the legend’s male or female, or even if King is human. Well, that Dante never could resist a dare. He bets it all! So why is he pointing his gun everyone’s favorite hot weapon totin’ Lady?! The start of an arc for the finale commences and it begins in the next of three episodes. Two devils from Dante’s past show up and they have promises to keep and not that long before they send Dante to his eternal sleep! They knew his demon dad, the dark knight Sparda, and the White Demon wants to face the son of the devil who could best his swordsmanship in hopes that his son is as strong a fighter. The devil brother has his own agenda. Both goals are to kill Dante! There’s a wicked sword duel with fantastic animation (and lots of blood!) that kicks ass. The next is the big finale split in two. It starts with Dante getting a job protecting an amulet that attracts demons. The thing is that the woman who owns it is hiding a secret and it has to do with that mouthy brat under Dante’s care – Patty! Add in insidious Sid who has some smarmy plans of his own and Trish and Lady doing their own investigation into this pendant and you have all the makings of Armageddon – literally! The final episode sees Hell on Earth, a sealed devil stronger than any of the demon kings free to slaughter the planet and all humanity and Dante trapped in the Demon World crucified to a cross by his own sword! His buddies have something to say about that! Even Patty rushes in to save the day while the fantastic duo of Lady and Trish deal with the hordes of Hell roaming the city and trying to obliterate our two killer femme fatales! The action in the final ep is wicked cool! It has Dante at his uber best with the cool dude one liners and awesome moves. It was a super end to a supreme action series!
