ADV Films acquires popular anime based on visual novel
ADV Films' Matt Greenfield announced at Sogen Con this past weekend that the company has acquired Clannad. Based on the visual novel, the story revolves around a high-school boy named Tomoya Okazaki and five girls whose lives are intertwine with one another, including Tomoya's. Developed by Key, the popularity of game gave life to books and publications such as light novel, manga, drama CD, and of course into anime. Kyoto Animation, the company the behind Air and Kanon, produces the anime.
Active Anime contacted Matt Greenfield about the announced acquisition, and he did vefiried that ADV has landed the anime. No word on when the series will arrive on DVD. |
