Two and a half years since Takeru and Bismarck landed and settled on Earth, their troubles and journey have started once again with Takeru’s plight to expose the lies about Earth to the people of Eden, and Ao’s dream of traveling to the stars.

Unable to keep the buried secret that Ao has been carrying all these years, she tells Takeru what exactly happened to her father during the first ever Rocket Festival, as the festival itself was supposed to bridge the gap between the people of the Earth and the moon. Takeru on the other hand is bent on exposing the truth about Earth to the people on the moon, thus both of them decided to make it happen. Building a Saturn V rocket from parts laying in the Smithsonian with help from old man Brown, but Anna’s brother, Blue Earth, is totally against the journey as he carries an emotional scar that haunts him since the disastrous festival.

On launch day, everything was going according to plan until an imminent danger threatens the life of Takeru and Ao while already strapped down in the lunar capsule just a few minutes before lift-off. Biz, who decided to stay on Earth, must find a way to prevent the problem from getting critical, and avoid history from repeating itself.

FREEDOM 6 will continue to keep you at the edge of your seat while it touches your emotions. It has profound elements that are missing in newer anime series. While FREEDOM 6 is supposed to be the final episode in the journey, the popularity of the series warranted a seventh and concluding episode to give the show closure and something that the fans of the series should not miss when it is released.

HD DVD (TWIN FORMAT):
While I enjoyed the HD-DVD format of FREEDOM, this happens to be the last release of the series in this format. Episode 7 will be included in the complete Blu-ray package. The picture was superb and the utilization of 5.1 channels is superb in this volume and throughout the entire series. The twin format allows non HD-DVD user to use the disc in a standard DVD player, but there is a very noticeable difference between the HD and SD version even when it is upscaled. Review is done with HD-DVD format, and standard format was used only for comparison.

EXTRAS:
Just like the previous volumes, conceptual production sketch images, Japanese commercials, FREEDOM 6’s digest and quick recap are downloadable from Xbox 360.

IN SUMMARY:
FREEDOM 6 is an emotional roller coaster ride that will have you at the edge of your seat. An anime that is meant to be seen only in high-definition.
