Just when you thought it couldn’t get more weird, Papuwa always has something new to throw at you. In this volume that would be the Man Ball that Kotaro has to find by going down the Man Hole to prove his manliness. Confused? Don’t be! It’s M-BABA time baby yet again as we delve into the bizarre and just plain freaky world of Papuwa! So Kotaro, the boy with the buried ability to destroy the island, is off with his buddies to become a man. On this bizarre test he’ll meet a squid man, some cute blood sucking bats and even some man eating hamsters (also cute). If that isn’t enough weird excitement for ya, don’t worry, Papuwa always has more, more, more! There’s Liquid having to deal with all sorts of headaches and injuries when Kotaro and friends decide to give him gifts to celebrate Father’s Day. It will be one that he won’t forget, if it doesn’t kill Liquid first! When Koji comes by for a visit with his muscled sister in tow, Liquid finally is left flat on his back and out of action while in traction, left to the mercy of Kotaro and Papuwa. They plot to hold trials for a substitute man-maid (Otherwise how will those dishes ever get done?) and boy, do they ever come up with a doozy set of traps, most that will kill ya, in order to have contenders far and wide prove if they have what it takes to take Liquid’s place and don that apron with pride! This show gets more bizarre and funny with each volume. There’s no corner of wackiness that this show won’t leave unexplored, no stone of freakiness left unturned. If you want an anime that is unique and unlike any comedy you’ve seen, Papuwa is it. EXTRAS: Bonus fun include clean opening and closing, character art gallery, ADV previews and translator notes on the references made in the show. IN SUMMARY: It’s insane, it’s hilarious, it’s Papuwa! |
