Pokemon is a series you either love or hate, because there’s no way you don’t know at least something about it! Either way, it is a multi-million dollar franchise and it isn’t going away anytime soon. Most readers can remember the boom in the late nineties with the original Pokemon adventures, but did you know there has been a stream of new separate seasons since then? Pokemon All Stars takes episodes from throughout the many seasons within the Pokemon universe, and brings specific episodes with specific Pokemon together so that fans of those Pokemon can see them in their own episodes as a small collection. Following up with Pokémon’s 10th Anniversary celebration set, the Pokemon All Stars will have the next ten DVD releases commemorating top Pokemon characters. Each disc showcases a single character with 3 classic episodes featuring their adventures. This particular disc of course features the ever-popular Meowth, with both his Team Rocket persona, and wild Pokemon persona in tow. Meowth is more well-known as a Team Rocket member, but even he tends to interact with other Meowths in the Pokemon world from time to time. Such adventures await viewers in this Meowth specific DVD! Meowth focused episodes are usually pretty funny – this particular DVD contains “The Purr-fect Hero,” “Go West, Young Meowth,” and “Meowth Rules!” One episode actually explains the origins of Meowth and where he came from before he was a Team Rocket Member. Being the only speaking Pokemon, it’s pretty interesting to finally know why it is that he decided to learn to speak. “Meowth Rules!” puts Meowth in the hot seat as a bunch of islanders believe him to be the Great Meowth of Plenty – a living God of sorts! Meowth learns the difference between real friendship, and blind devotion as Jesse and James get him out of a bind even after he has treated them unfairly. There’s three great Pokemon adventures here with lots to learn, and lots of Meowth to go around!
IN SUMMARY:
Pokemon All Stars is a fun concept that lets viewers collect the discs with their favorite Pokemon being featured on them. This Meowth specific disc is especially funny and enjoyable because Meowth is such a quirky character! |
