"Is there a way to measure how much a certain person means to me..." In this last ever volume of Roureville, Evan reflects on the past, and how he came to be with Jayce. How much he actually means to him in a world of disappointment he feels he can truly find love with the ghostly male, but there are still aspects of him he cannot understand. Jayce has a habit of doing strange things that mystify his lover, and on the days that passed, when Cleo and Eric left, he became more and more distant though he was there with him, staring into space.
One day he is with him and Evan thinks he is fading into invisibility and wonders why this is. He is afraid he might disappear for good and leave him on his own.
It is now when the reader will realise how much he likes having him around, and that he has developed a strong enough bond with the enigmatic young male. There is also another problem, Evan has started to become distant and listless as well, he stares into space for no reason at all, and cannot concentrate on writing his story, and wonders if he is becoming like Jayce. Time seems to pass by at a slow pace in this book, and that is done purposely so the reader can see life from Jayce's point of view.
The reference to the movie Ghost starring Whoopie Goldberg is a lovely throwback to a film everyone enjoyed, and also that Jayce requested to watch it on the projector at home made this volume a little more light hearted too. Drawing Jayce as a cat boy was a nice touch that many will like to see.
Fans of this title will be unhappy to let go of the story as they have read it right from the first volume, and it will have captured their imagination so much.
Readers will be more eager to find out E. Hae’s next graphic novel series and what genre it will be about. Her artwork style is highly original and subtly beautiful and will become a fan favourite in the future.
