TONARI NO 801 CHAN TO AIR IN 2009 IN JAPAN

Popular online manga by Ajiko Kojima will braodcast as an anime in 2009. Kyoto Animation to animate the show.


Ohzora Publishing’s official website announced that Ajiko Kojima’s popular manga, TONARI NO 801 CHAN, is now an anime series that will broadcast on 2009 (broadcaster to be determined).

Kyoto Animation which produced animated titles such as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzymiya, Clannad, and Lucky Star will produce and animate the popular online manga. The comedy is about an otaku name Chibe-kun, who is the narrator of the story in the show, and his girlfriend Yoai-chan, who is fixated with boys-love manga.

The title gained a remarkable popularity on the Internet, and as a result, it was published on Ohzora Publishing, and currently has 3 volumes. TONARI NO 801 CHAN is considered a Boys-Love series,  thus it has a significant role to promote females called 801(Yaoi) or Fujoshi who are fans of the Boys-Love manga genre.
