The battle with Behemoth is getting cooler, racier, and a lot more fan service between brutal Air Trek fights! It starts off right away with Onigiri on his one Air Trek against Gorgon Shell, the luscious babe who is one of the Four Titans of Behemoth. Don’t underestimate her! Just like the Gorgon she has looks that can kill! No one in the arena is immune. Onigiri proves himself a pig among men when he discovers a way to break free of her deadly snake-like cage. Onigiri is the Man! The fan service with Gorgon doesn’t end there, oh no. Simca is up to something and she switched Ringo’s masked outfit for something very, VERY skimpy! Will she dare go onto the stage? It looks a like there’s a girl fight brewing. I say bring it! I don’t think there was ever a volume yet of Air Gear so laden with delicious fan service! Volume 8 rocks! Now back to the fighting! Girls are facing off but what about split personality weirdo Agito/Akito? He’s battling as one king to another with Udou. The Fang Regalia Udou took away from him, he plans to take back! But it looks like he’s doing it almost like a suicide mission. Just which personality will bite the dust? And we learn something about the Regalia. Apparently it has a way of choosing its true Keeper. I wonder who it will pick this time! I don’t think it’s just me who is finding the battle scenes with the Air Treks to be getting even more wickedly cool with each chapter. The splash pages and aerial visuals are kick ass amazing! There is nothing else like this imagery anywhere in manga. If you were someone who is simply big on art and graphic novel drawing style, the art alone is enough reason to pick this book up. The gritty and often hilarious, always suspenseful racy story is the other. Manga extra goodies include character concept sketches, translation notes and Air Gear trivia. Plus in the character sketches make sure to not miss the one of Gorgon Shell…wowza!!
