With the help of Jyubei, the Hori women have killed one of the Seven Spears. But the remaining six won’t be so easily surprised. Jyubei continues his training, but will it be enough to grant these young women their wish for revenge even though it will cost them their lives? The training has helped prepare them, but the Hori clan still has much to learn. Even as they train, determined to avenge their murdered loved ones, the remaining Seven Spears set into motion a vicious plan to flush them out. The brutality climbs ever higher with each volume of this manga. And the depths to which both sides are prepared to go are shocking. A simple trip will see the women in danger when they find themselves ambushed by not one, but two of the Spears. Can even Jyubei’s training be enough to prepare them for an attack from two fronts? Even if most, or all of them survive the attack, the Spears are cunning murderers. With some help, they put into motion a plan to capture the man in the Hannya mask and trap the Hori women once and for all, no matter how many people they have to murder to do so! The sheer ruthlessness of their plan is horrifying. Their disregard for human life is shown to be absolute. The way they use and murder women are most disturbing and it makes the reader long for the revenge the Hori Clan survivors are working so hard towards. But it is truly a double edged sword, because there seems to be no way for the women to succeed fully without it being at the cost of their hard won lives. It seems instead they are moving swiftly towards a hard won death steeped in honor, duty, and vengeance. Manga extras are translation notes including historical and cultural information, and a preview of the next volume translated in English.
