Pokemon: Fun with Mazes and Puzzles is a great book for kids, with a lot of fun and educational value to go along with it. It features more than twenty different games with Pokemon friends that can build problem solving skills while still holding up the fun factor side of the bargain. And really: Who doesn’t like mazes? Don’t try to hide it – I know you do. So, the book is 30 very colorful pages long and features hundreds of different Pokemon. Right at the beginning of the book we are treated to a very extensive “Pokemon Evolution at a Glance” chart, showcasing various Pokemon and their evolved forms. The art is fantastic throughout the book, and it’s easy to tell that it will be from the cover and the first few pages. The mazes are a lot of fun – each maze has instructions on what to do while moving through the maze, and sometimes there is even a question or two to answer if kids want to. There are also counting games, word games, and Pokemon recognition games. It’s pretty ingenious hiding all this educational value in a fun book filled with Pokemon – kids probably won’t even realize they’re learning as they read and work along (wink). The book also provides a helpful “Answers” section in the back so kids can check what the answers are if they are stumped, or even to see that their answer is correct once they know what they think it is. It can also be mentioned that the book is large and hardcover, so it will stand a bit of a beating, and is really very nice and good-looking for a book of such a reasonable price. All in all, it’s very colorful, well-made, and educational to boot. Any parent should be pleased to purchase this book for their Pokemon-hungry child as it is just as educational as it is entertaining. Make no mistake: this is a quality book that has had a lot of good thought put into it so that it will appeal to the target audience of young minds it wishes to enhance – it’s very worthwhile.
IN SUMMARY: Pokemon: Fun with Mazes and Puzzles teaches kids many skill building mental exercises by hiding such lessons within a bundle of Pokemon fun. Kids will love it because it is entertaining and chockfull of Pokemon, and parents will love it because it’s a great way to get kids to learn without having to force it. Everyone wins! |
