This is my first review of a Yaoi Press title and my first time reading an original English language yaoi manga. My oh my! This fantasy fits in every fetish and dark seduction you can imagine and then some! Plus it has a totally involving story! Davon is a beautiful prince with a castle full of dark secrets and darker desires. He kills boys whose names begin with the letter ‘A’, has sex with his half-brother, hip teddy-bear of an uncle, and serves a demonic master on the side. His plate sure is full! But when a peasant lad named Aeon submits to him, has Davon’s killing spree come to an end? Is he a tragic martyr forced to kill to save others? Or is Davon a victim turned predator with a few screws loose and a serious sex addiction? You’ll have to read Dark Prince to decide for yourself! There’s magic and court intrigue in this castle caper. Does his half-bro, Lowry, want to seduce Davon or take the throne? Aeon has had a hard time of it but he may have a fate that trumps all. There are demons in-fighting and other side characters bandying about. And when I say all kinds of ‘bandying’ I do not exaggerate. There’s incest, supernatural lovers, BDSM, and kinky sex all around. The art style is pretty close to average yaoi, more graphic content but, oddly enough less explicit, so there are a lot more couples doing a larger variety of things but with less actually showing. Plus there’s a preview of Winter Demon vol. 3.
IN SUMMARY:
Dark Prince is a seriously kinky and twisted fantasy for the yaoi fan who wants a little bit of everything.
