One of the eighty eight beasts has been unleashed. And a battle at Tokyo bay ensues. Only Ishigami stands in its way. But more than one battle front rears itself as Aida fights against him to challenge his role as protector of Misao. A reunion between Ishigami, Misao, and even journalistic minded Keiko occurs. Yet all that means is that the players are now lined up for the true sacrifices to begin! This horror series is a layered read and features some of the richest art work in the genre. Intrigue upon intrigue is built as dissension within the ranks of evil arise when inhuman Otoroshi makes plain his disgust for Higa’s machinations and makes a move to plot against him. But what are Otoroshi’s true plans? Even though he is not at full power, his mere presence unleashes the evil within the hearts of men. Can he be stopped? Can the resurrection of the beasts be halted before all of humanity is drowned in their own blood? It is riveting to witness Yu and Kaede’s possible final fate in this volume. Ishigami returns to his home one last time. He says goodbye to his past and moves into the future, one that might be short lived. The excellence of the art work alone is stunning and enough of a reason to pick this book up. But the involving action horror is equally fascinating. It’s one of the more complex horrors out there, well worth the read. IN SUMMARY: Kami Kaze contains story and art that completely immerses its readers into its world of darkness. With deaths piling up and sacrifices opening the Torii, only 3 gates remain and the blood of the Kegai no Tami are needed to open them. It seems to be becoming only a matter of time until Hell is literally unleashed on Earth. |
