The new opening “Rising Force” says it all. With the penultimate volume of SRW it’s all about the action, the adrenaline and it’s time to stand up and be counted for the men and women of this fine mecha anime! The aliens have landed and the Federation finally comes face to face with their enemy. The Aerogater army is as slick and cool as Cylons and it looks like the Earth Sphere is losing a battle they have no hope of winning. Could this be the end? Don’t gasp yet mecha fanboys and fangirls! The Feds have a plan. Operation SRW is bold, it’s likely suicidal, and it’s the last best hope for victory and survival for Earth! The plan is to go up against the Aerogaters’ main base, the White Star, with everything the Earth forces have. And if this means teaming up with the questionable United Colony Corps, then so be it. There’s bad blood between the pilots of the UCC and the Federation Army, but some of them seem to be coming together to fight the good fight. Plus they have spiffy new mecha to do it with! After all, an anime like this is all about guts and the cool mecha! The team goes off to test their new R series of mecha. But wouldn’t you know it, those pesky Aerogaters get in the way. And it’s gonna leave a mark! Plissken goes to extreme lengths during the battle and a truly harsh turn happens when betrayal from within strikes out at our beloved pilots! And then after that shocking loss, two of the top pilots, Ryu and Raide get arrested! Just what is going on? It’s a twisted web of lies and they’ve got to get it straightened out and move, move, move to get the operation under way, despite the ugly truth behind the plan that they’ve learned along the way. This could really be it, a suicide mission to save the Earth. But it gets worse! On their way to reach the White Star they are stopped by a new Gungust Type mecha and it’s piloted by Kusuha! Madness, betrayal, and Earth’s last stand, it’s all coming up in Super Robot Wars! Hold on to your seat and strap yourselves in because it is going to be one heck of a bumpy ride here on out!
