Soneka’s devastating attack has left Nahashi wounded and Sumire and Lucia separated in the latest thrilling volume of Venus Versus Virus. To stop those hunting them, Sumire risks losing her sanity when she elects to overdose on the vaccine, turning her again into an unstoppable killing machine. Standing in her way is the vicious Ruka. But even this lethal foe might find Sumire’s lust for violence too much. At the same time Lucia tries to defeat a Hunter but is hampered by the innocent boy she must protect – and which the Hunter is more than willing to use as a pawn to weaken Lucia. Both of these individual battles pale in comparison with the confrontations between berserker Sumire and Lucia. The power of Lucia’s left eye is unleashed and both young women will be left wounded and riddled with self-doubts. It is during this time of confusion that Sumire seeks comfort from her fellow classmate, Yoshiki. She feels she failed and that Lucia blames her. Yet Lucia fears Sumire now sees her as a monster. Her self-loathing and Sumire’s crisis of conscience set their tenuous relationship back a step even while Sumire still tries to get closer to Lucia. The Hunters are regrouping and the true villain pulling the strings has yet to come forward. Extras in this manga include a full color cover page and a special preview of Seven Seas’ yuri series, Strawberry Panic.
IN SUMMARY: Sumire and Lucia battle enemies and their own inner demons in the latest volume. Venus Versus Virus is a non-stop thrill ride with a good share of chills!
