Since the days of King Arthur and his knights of the round table, there has been the aim of bringing man into a new time of peace, but each time it has been tried, it has been ruined by outward sources of malign evil and treacherous jealously. As the generations pass onward, the reincarnation of Arthur is there in modern day within the body of all American teenager Will Wagner.

And as he has been reincarnated, so are all the main characters from the round table and beyond including Merlin, Lancelot, Guinevere and Mordred. Ellie Hanson is dating Will and after he was kicked out by his angry father for not wanting to join the Navy, he lives at her parent's house in harmony and nothing could be better.

Also a popular girl at school, she is nominated for Homecoming Queen along with others, and is encouraged by her friends to enjoy herself. And she would if it weren't for Morgan Frank who seems to block her way at every turn, acting as though she hates her so much, and it's not surprising as her lover Will's half-brother Marco tried to kill Will and is now incarcerated in prison for his cruel deeds.

Ellie still has nightmares of that fateful time and if things could not get any worse, Mr Morton tells her if the world is going to flourish under a new age that Will must truly believe he is King Arthur, or the world will be taken over by a new reign of evil under a more deadly king.

From the author who brought readers The Princess Diaries and The Mediator, Meg Cabot's new series Avalon High shows the Arthurian legend in a new light and gives it a more modern feel, bringing it into the millennium with the usual fun characters in high school and having them also be the reincarnated people of Arthurian times.
It does prove to be a problem with each character knowing about their past, dark or light and keeping their secrets.

Fans of historical Manga will like this very much.

IN SUMMARY:
Avalon High is the sort of Manga that would make a great anime series.
