Mina Tepes is a vampire with a plan. She’s dug deep into her coffin’s coffers and paid off the entire national debt for Japan – in exchange for a teeny-weeny favor. It seems Princess of all Vampires wants Japan to build her an artificial island off of Japan’s coast. And Mina is a vampire who always gets what she wants. The island is called the Bund and it’s a place where vampires can live unhindered and free. At least that’s what Mina says she wants. But who knows what’s going on in that sly mind of hers. She also has a big “coming-out” party planned, including a press conference to announce the existence of vampires. But first she has to make a side trip to pick up wolf-boy, Akira. He’s seventeen and her brand new bodyguard – for eternity! Man, some guys have all the luck. Akira’s going to find that he has his hands full at his new job, and not just with Mina. There are a lot of assassins out to do the vampire princess in. Akira is going to find himself neck deep and sinking fast with human zealots as well as a vampire conspiracy. Mina has enemies on both sides of the supernatural house and now Akira is stuck between her and some pretty fearsome forces. Dance/Vampire Bund is a wicked addition to the vampire action gang. Akira has guts and sharp wit (complete with claws!). He’s not alone in protecting wily little Mina. There’s also Vera, who’s as deadly as she is dedicated. And, trust me, Akira’s going to need all the help he can get. Between assassination attempts and bomb threats, he’s got a lot on his plate. But the manga also has a healthy dose of mystery. Just what vampire would dare rise up against Mina? And why? Plus there’s a voluptuous babe who has her sites set on Akira and she looks a lot like an adult version of Mina … hmm? And that’s another question – why does Mina look like a kid? The Mina from Bram Stoker’s Dracula was an adult woman. And frankly, seeing a kid getting seductive is high on my creepy meter. But not everything seems to be what it appears and the young Mina and the ‘ghost’ that only Akira encounters are part of the mystery. The art is awesome. It has gore perfect for a story about a cunning vampire girl and her boy bodyguard. It has great character designs and wicked action sequences. The story’s exciting and the art matches the thrills!
IN SUMMARY:
A sly vampire mistress secures a home for the supernatural and battles assassins, human and otherwise, in Dance in the Vampire Bund. It’s wicked vampire action!
