Torrid tales of love and obsession make for one of the most varied and provocative yaoi anthologies in Weekend Lovers.

It begins with an innocent tryst between impulsive and carefree Koutarou and always-composed salaryman Asahi.  But these weekend lovers get serious and soon Koutarou is in a bind over broken plans and jealous about a new guy working with Asahi.  Can these two opposites pull it together?

It’s a cute and sweet story with a little raciness.  And so it leaves readers totally unprepared for the severe harshness of the story that follows.  Two guys work at a video store and one is having some seriously twisted sexual fantasies over the new guy.  And he’s planning a dastardly scheme to see it through!  This tale has a warped twist at  the end that is both disturbing and titillating.

There’s a second serious story about sexual extortion that could somehow lead to true love.  But then the manga lightens up with its two final tales.  The first, and my personal favorite, is a romance about a savvy transfer student and the outrageous “gang boss” he finds himself hanging with at school.  The second is almost as funny about a cross-dressing male maid and the butler he lives to serve!!

The stories each have their racy sex appeal - some way more risqué than others (ahem, BDSM, anyone?).  It’s a confident drawing style with a lot of diverse gay men from cross-dressers to business suits to street thugs, all getting their groove on.  Plus like all the 801 manga line, it includes a yummy full color cover page.

IN SUMMARY:
Weekend Lovers is one of the more diverse yaoi anthologies to hit the shelves!  There’s everything from cute, romantic and comedy to dark and heavy.
