Sora’s accident happens just when Najika was preparing for the finals in the baking competition. But tragedy follows and it decimates Najika, utterly breaking her heart. She discovers a shocking truth, was unprepared for the deceit it succeeded, and is left in pieces in the aftermath of what happens with Sora. This is quite a shocking turn for such a sweet shojo manga series. It catapults turning points for all the characters. Daichi makes a fateful decision in order to help Najika while Najika struggles on, her heart shattered, to continue to do what Sora wanted for her. Forced to make a deal with the Devil, Daichi must contend with his family once again and take on the role of Student Council President. His father is exploiting him for all he’s worth, using his affection for Najika ruthlessly. And Daichi still has not spoken of his true feelings for the girl, not wanting to tread upon her love for Sora. But everyone is about to get another shock when the new transfer student arrives. He’s there to take Najika’s place as the academy’s hopeful and his appearance will shock Najika terribly. It is a very dramatic and angst ridden volume of Kitchen Princess and will undoubtedly have a powerful emotional impact for the readers. Due to the extreme changes characters undergo, it is a must read for followers of the series. The manga still has its usual extras such as a tender hearted bonus story featuring Sora, translation notes, and a preview of the next upcoming volume in Japanese. As with each Kitchen Princess manga, there are recipes at the back for the ones used in the volume for readers to try. I highly recommend the tomato bruschetta. It is easy to make and tastes delicious.
IN SUMMARY: Tragedy strikes Najika and lays everyone close to her low in the most shocking events of this most pivotal volume of Kitchen Princess. |
