Kodakawa Pictures, Kodakawa Shoten, and GDH is currently distributing movies and anime via bit torrent in Japan. The project started on June 9, and will last until June 13. The companies are capitalizing on the popularity of the Bit Torrent and P2P content distribution, and claims that the system is an efficient and safe way to distribute high resolution visual contents.

Kadokawa Pictures will provide three movies, Kadokawa Shoten to provide the first episode of Mushiuta and Mamorkun ni Megami no Shukufuku O!, and GDH will distribute all episodes of Romeo X Juliet, and is planning to provide 10 additional titles. The contents are free for download, but are only limited to Japanese Internet users, and distribution will be with Bit Torrent DNA.

Bit Torrent is used to upload and download illegal contents, and among anime fans overseas, the number of downloads is significantly high, but the company  is recently trying to switch their business from software development to legal content distribution.
